Bass Pro Shops has set a grand opening date for its long-awaited Sayreville store: Wednesday, Nov. 11, Veterans Day.
The 200,000-square-foot Outdoor World location sits inside the Riverton development off the Garden State Parkway. The company calls it its largest single-level store. Bass Pro first announced a Sayreville store years ago, when it was expected to open in 2015.
What’s Inside
- An 80,000-gallon shipwreck aquarium with more than 280 fish
- A 12,000-gallon stingray touch pool
- The Flemish Cap, a deep-sea themed restaurant with underwater-themed bowling lanes and arcade games
- President George H.W. Bush’s personal offshore fishing boat, Fidelity V, on display
Along with fishing, hunting, camping and boating gear, the store will carry boats, ATVs and side-by-side vehicles, plus hands-on exhibits about the outdoors.
Opening Night
Bass Pro is calling the opening an “Evening for Conservation,” and it is open to the public. Live music starts at 5 p.m., followed by a ribbon-cutting at 6 p.m., and the store opens right after. Meet-and-greets and autographs with guests, including NASCAR champion Martin Truex Jr. and several fishing and outdoor TV personalities, run until 8 p.m. PAW Patrol characters will also appear.
The company says 15% of sales that night will go to local conservation groups.
Opening Week
- Nov. 11 to 15: Bass Pro Shops and Cabela’s CLUB members get 10% off almost everything in the store
- Nov. 12 to 14: Door prizes for the first 200 families through the door each day
- Starting Nov. 12: Santa’s Wonderland opens, with a free photo with Santa
After opening night, the store will be open 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday.
