Today, the 2nd of Iyar, marks the Yahrtzeit of Rabbi Rav Yehuda Meir Abramowicz (1914–2007).

Talmid of Rav Meir Shapiro and graduate of Yeshivas Chachmei Lublin, he was instrumental in spreading Daf Yomi in prewar Poland. After immigrating to Eretz Yisrael, he became a key leader of Agudat Yisrael, serving as General Secretary, Tel Aviv deputy mayor, Knesset member (1972–1981), and Deputy Speaker. He helped found Chinuch Atzmai and advanced public observance of Torah values. In 1980, he became Chairman of World Agudath Israel.
