A bizarre attempt at a bank robbery in Sandusky, Ohio, took an unexpected turn when the perpetrator, unable to communicate in English, resorted to using a translation app to convey his demands.
The Venezuelan-born suspect, identified as Yeixon Brito-Gonzalez, found himself at a loss for words, quite literally, as his plans unraveled in front of him.
Sandusky Police Chief Jared Oliver expressed astonishment, stating, “I have been in law enforcement for over 20 years and this is the first time I encountered something like this, someone using a translator app to try and rob a bank. First time our officers have dealt with it too.”
Brito-Gonzalez’s lack of preparedness was evident as he failed to grasp even basic phrases like “give me the money.” His subsequent attempt to bluff his way through the situation by claiming he needed “money in a bag” further highlighted the absurdity of the situation.
