Rabbi Tzvi Kogan, a 28-year-old Chabad Shliach in the United Arab Emirates was murdered by terrorists. His body was recovered on Sunday after being missing for four days.
Born in Yerushalayim, Rabbi Kogan dedicated his life to Jewish education and community building, eventually moving to the UAE with his wife, Rivky, to assist in strengthening Jewish life in the region.
Local reports indicate his vehicle was found abandoned in Al Ain, and Israeli officials suspect Iranian intelligence may have been tracking him. Israel’s Prime Minister’s Office has called his killing a “criminal antisemitic terrorist attack” and vowed to pursue justice.
Following the incident, Israel’s National Security Council has issued a warning for citizens to avoid non-essential travel to the UAE. Rabbi Kogan is survived by his wife, parents, and siblings.
