Oracle and OpenAI are expanding their partnership with plans to bring business applications and company data into ChatGPT, alongside new tools for building software and testing security.
The companies announced the collaboration on October 27 at Oracle AI World. OpenAI says Oracle is developing Oracle AI Workspace to connect its applications and data with ChatGPT, allowing employees to find information and complete approved business workflows.

Connecting business systems
The intended workspace would let people describe a business task in ordinary language and bring together the relevant tools and information. Oracle says it is designed to connect Fusion Applications, NetSuite, Oracle AI Database, cloud infrastructure and other enterprise systems.
For example, a finance employee could investigate costs or check what still needs to be done before a month-end close. The companies say access would remain subject to each organization’s permissions and approvals.
App building and security tools
The announcement also includes Oracle App Composer, designed to help employees build applications using Codex and connect them to approved company data. Oracle would manage deployment on its cloud infrastructure.
Another offering, Oracle AI Security Mesh, is designed to help customers find and fix vulnerabilities using OpenAI models. Customers would define the authorized scope of testing, while Oracle manages the testing infrastructure and safeguards.
CNBC independently reported the expanded collaboration and the addition of ChatGPT and Codex to Oracle’s application stack.
The announcements should not be read as a blanket rollout to every ChatGPT user. Access, product terms and availability differ across the offerings. Oracle also announced a small-business bundle, but that package has its own terms and restrictions. The broader aim is to make AI usable inside business systems, rather than simply adding a separate chat window.
