Local Ceasefire Takes Effect in Ukrainian City of Oleshky

A localized ceasefire began Tuesday in the Russian-occupied Ukrainian city of Oleshky. Ukrainian officials and Russia’s defense ministry say the pause is being respected. The White House says First Lady Melania Trump helped secure the truce, which is meant to allow aid deliveries and a civilian evacuation. Ukrainian authorities estimate about 1,700 people remain in the city. Many details of the evacuation are still unclear.
