Lakewood SRT 9/11 Memorial Workout

Today, the Lakewood Police Department’s Special Response Team honored the lives lost on September 11, 2001, through sweat, grit, and teamwork.

Our teams completed a challenging evolution three times over, climbing the stairs of Tower 5 for a total of 126 flights, symbolizing the 110 floors of the World Trade Center.

At the conclusion of the workout, when all seven teams had completed their evolutions, every member came together for a 4 minute and 14 second cool-down formation jog, paying tribute to the 414 first responders who made the ultimate sacrifice that day.

This workout wasn’t just about physical fitness, it was about team building, remembrance, and honoring the courage of those who ran toward danger to save others.

Lakewood Police Department proudly says:

We Remember. We Honor. We Never Forget.
