WhatsApp has begun rolling out several new features aimed at streamlining communication, enhancing creativity, and maintaining user privacy. Among the most notable innovations is an AI-powered Message Summaries tool, designed to help users catch up on unread messages more efficiently. This tool uses a method called Private Processing, allowing the AI to generate summaries while safeguarding the content of personal chats from external access.

In addition to the AI enhancement, WhatsApp is introducing a raised hand emoji that will be visible during voice and video calls. This feature is being rolled out gradually and is currently available to select beta testers. It provides a non-intrusive way for participants to signal that they’d like to speak or contribute to the conversation, making group calls more organized and inclusive.

The platform is also expanding its creative offerings with a new feature that allows users to design and share custom photo layouts directly in their status updates. This update enables more expressive and visually engaging posts, giving users greater flexibility to combine multiple images in a single status.
