Chabad of South Brunswick, New Jersey Unveils World’s Largest Mezuzah

Chabad of South Brunswick has unveiled what is believed to be the world’s largest Mezuzah. Standing an impressive 6.5 feet tall, the monumental Mezuzah was installed at the entrance of the Chabad center under the leadership of Rabbi Levi and Goldie Azimov.

This surpasses the dimensions of previously known large mezuzahs, including installations at sites like Ben Gurion Airport and the Kosel Hamaravi, which measured 1.01 meters and 1.4 meters respectively.

Crafting a Mezuzah of such massive proportions came with unique challenges. Standard klaf-writing tools were not suitable for the scale required. Because of the enlarged size of the parchment and the oversized ksav, a regular turkey feather could not be used. Instead, a specially designed giant bamboo quill was created. Two expert sofrim—one residing in Yerushalayim and the other based in the United Arab Emirates—joined forces to write it. Now installed, the mezuzah has become a local attraction in New Brunswick.
