Remembering The Kossover Rebbe on His Yahrtzeit

Today, the 23rd of Sivan, marks the Yahrtzeit of Rabbi Shraga Feivish Hager, the Kossover Rebbe (1958-2024).

Rav Shraga Feivish Hager zt”l, the Kossover Rebbe, was a gaon in Torah and avodah who built a chassidus b’chayav from the ground up, uplifting hundreds with his fiery hadrachos and uncompromising standards. Born in 5716 (1956) into a heilige mishpachah of Vizhnitz and Kossov, he was a ben achar ben to the Imrei Boruch and the Ahavas Yisroel. Though he never sought the mantle of leadership, he was crowned by a small chevrah of chassidim who recognized his gadlus, and from there, the kehillah blossomed across Boro Park, Monsey, Lakewood, and Eretz Yisroel.

The Rebbe ZT”L was known for his hislahavus in learning, his brokenhearted tefillos, and his deep empathy for every Yid. He served as a dayan in the Vizhnitzer kehillah, was the nasi of several mosdos, and spearheaded projects such as Jnet and Bnos Chaya. He was niftar on leil Shabbos at the age of 66, leaving a shattered tzibbur and a legacy of avodas hakodesh that will continue to inspire.
